Aaron Leon Snell

Aaron L. Snell, 71, of Iva, husband of Sarah Anne Henry Snell, died Sunday, September 16, 2007 at the Hospice House of the Upstate. He was born in Johnson City, TN to Dessie Lewis Snell and the late Edward Snell. Mr. Snell served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from the Engineering Department at An-Med Hospital and was a ceramic tile setter by trade. Mr. Snell was the co-founder of Bethel Baptist Church in Thomas, GA, and was a former pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Abbeville. He was an avid motorcycle rider. He and his wife had traveled to 48 states on his Harley Davidson. Mr. Snell was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Greenwood, SC. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother. Surviving Mr. Snell is his wife of 50 years of the home; his mother of Prattville, Ala; a son, Aaron L. Snell, Jr. of Simpsonville, SC; two daughters, Sara Elizabeth Oliver and her husband Guy of N. Augusta, SC; and Teresa Ann Brown and her husband Alan of Anderson, SC; a sister, Nadine Herrod and her husband Donald of Prattville, Ala; six grandchildren, Jessica Harrison, Andrew Oliver, Jennifer Hulme, Daniel Oliver, Aaron L. "Trey" Snell, III, and Rebecca Oliver; and a great-granddaughter, Breanna Harrison. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at the residence.
