Agnes Kelman Hodge, 89, of Abbeville, SC wife of the late James A. "Jim" Hodge, Jr., died Friday, May 2, 2008 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC. Born in Winston-Salem, NC on January 12, 1919, Aggie was a daughter of the late William Kelman and Leslie Morton Kelman. She, along with her husband, opened Hodge Frozen Food in 1953 and continued working at the "Locker Plant" until her retirement. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church where she attended the T.E.L. Sunday School Class. She is survived by her son, Pat Hodge and his wife Dena of Abbeville, SC; her daughter Faye Ballard and her husband Bob of Rock Hill, SC; sister, Martha Barton of Winston-Salem, NC; grandchildren, Jay Hodge of Anderson, SC, Josh Ballard and his wife Amy of Simpsonville, SC, Leslie Ballard of Rock Hill, SC, Cary Hodge of Abbeville, SC and Millie Runyon and her husband Scott of Hanahan, SC, and great-granddaughter Campbell Ballard of Simpsonville, SC. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Kelman and sisters, Frances Shore and Josephine Kelman. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville, SC. The Funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, May 5, 2008 at First Baptist Church, Abbeville, SC with the Reverends Reiny Koschel and Earl Byrd. Interment will follow in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be at the home of her son Pat Hodge.
