Allan C Downey

Allan C. Downey, 74, of Donalds, died Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Self Regional Healthcare. He was born in Stamford, CT to the late Carmen Wilson and Claire Kingsley Downey. Mr. Downey proudly served his country in the United States Marines Corps. He was employed with Tessier Dairy Farm, worked in the tree surgery business and was a carpenter. As a member of Abbeville Health and Fitness, Mr. Downey found pleasure meeting and exercising with his friends. He was of the Episcopal Faith and attended Lowndesville Presbyterian Church. Mr. Downey is survived by his sister, Ruth Elizabeth Waldhaus (Robert N.) of Donalds; two nephews, Dean Robert Connors of New York, NY and Robert T. Waldhaus (Deborah) of Fairfield, CT; and a niece, Wendy Slaughter (Bruce) of Mobile, AL. Graveside Services, with military honors, will be 12:00PM, Monday, June 27, 2016, in M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery, 140 Inway Drive, Anderson, SC 29621.
