Allen B. Bowie

November 30, 1946 — December 2, 2021

Allen Brown Bowie, 75, of Abbeville, husband of Patsy Walker Bowie, died
Thursday, December 2, 2021, at the Abbeville Area Medical Center. He was born in Laurens, SC to the late Ace Harvey Bowie and Dorothy Elizabeth Whitten Bowie.

A 1966 graduate of Abbeville High School, Allen was a loyal and dedicated employee of Milliken & Co., Inc.-Trucking Division as was noted by his tenure of 49 years. His capable driving ability was evident in the many over the road miles he traveled with his 18-wheeler, logging over three-million-miles accident free. Allen was a successful fisherman who never had to exaggerate his catch. He and his son, Johnny, were constant fishing partners, they never failed to enjoy this time they shared together. Allen enjoyed participating in bass tournaments with the Small Timers Bass Club. Favorite times were family visits, which were held as often as possible. Most of all, he loved his wife, children and grandchildren, they held his heart.

Allen is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patsy, of the home; son, Johnny Bowie (Shari) of Saluda, SC; daughter, Brandy Bowie Grimstad (Eric) of Green Bay, Wisconsin; two sisters, Brenda Grant and Cindy Price (Pete), all of Abbeville, SC; and four grandchildren, Micheala Bowie, Tyler Bowie, Nathan Fleming, and Sarah Ann Fleming.

The family will hold a private celebration of Allen’s life.
