Allen Leroy Campbell

Allen Leroy Campbell, 86, of Calhoun Falls, husband of the late Sara Janelle Todd Campbell, died Monday, August 21, 2023, in Elberton, GA. He was born in Abbeville, SC to the late Alvin and Sue Saxon Campbell.

Mr. Allen attended Calhoun Falls High School. He began his employment at the Calhoun Falls Mill, retiring from Elberton Mill after years of dedicated service. During his free time, Allen indulged in various hobbies and interests that brought him immense joy. He had a passion for collecting items of historical significance and enjoyed exploring the rich tapestry of Civil War history. Allen's enthusiasm for learning about the past was contagious, as he loved sharing historical anecdotes with those around him.

In addition to his parents and loving wife of 65 years, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard ‘Rick’ A. Campbell; two sisters, Margaret Cheek and Judy Martin; a brother, Charles Erford Campbell.

Mr. Allen is survived by a son Chuck Campbell and daughter-in-law Kelly Schrank of Elberton, GA; three grandchildren, Dale, Brad, and Dallas Campbell; a sister, Lynn Saxon (Doug) of Augusta, GA.

A service to celebrate Mr. Campbell’s life will be 1:00PM, Saturday, August 26, 2023, in the Harris Funeral Home - Calhoun Falls Chapel, 256 E. Savannah St., Calhoun Falls. The family will greet family and friends following the service.
