Annelle Plaxico White

Annelle Plaxico White, 94, of Greenville, SC, formally of Due West, SC, wife of the late William Henry 'Billy' White, Jr., died peacefully on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the Homewood Residence of Cleveland Park in Greenville, SC. She was born in Sharon, SC in York County to the late Victor Kennedy Plaxico and Maude Whitesides Plaxico. Mrs. White was a 1941 graduate of Erskine College and retired after 20+ years in the educational field having worked in the Blacksburg and Cherokee County Schools teaching English and Drama. She was a member of the Blacksburg ARP Church; as well as, the Due West ARP Church where she was very active while living at the retirement center. Mrs. White served with the Women of the Church in Due West and Blacksburg and was a member of the Missionary Society in Blacksburg. Surviving Mrs. White are her two daughters, Elizabeth Blanding White Fort and her husband John W. Fort of Greenville and Anne White Ross and her husband Larry Joe Ross of Blacksburg, SC; a son, William H. White, III of Alexandria, VA; four grandchildren, Mary Ashley Ross Ferguson, Jason Edward Fort, Daniel Hollman Fort and Adam Zachary Fort; three great-grandchildren, Jason Edward Fort, Jr., Hunter Bradley Fort and Kylie Marie Fort. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 1:45PM in the Due West ARP Church Fellowship Hall on Saturday, November 15, 2014. Funeral services will follow on Saturday beginning at 2:00PM in the Due West ARP Church with the Rev. Calvin Draffin and the Rev. Wayne Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Long Cane Cemetery. The families are at their respective homes.
