Annette Shockley Nicholson

Annette Shockley Nicholson, 93, of Abbeville, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Ansley Glen Assisted Living in Greenwood. She was the beloved wife of the late Willie R. 'Bill' Nicholson and was born in Abbeville to the late James F. and Annie Bolin Shockley.

 Mrs. Nicholson was a proud graduate of Abbeville High School, class of 1949. Her professional journey began at Abbeville Mills, culminating in her retirement from Abbeville Manufacturing. A dedicated member of Grace United Methodist Church, she actively contributed to various groups, including the Morning Stars Senior group, reflecting her strong commitment to her faith and community. An avid gardener, Mrs. Nicholson found joy in planting flowers and enjoyed hobbies such as baking, sewing, and creating memorable moments at the lake.

 She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, James Donald Shockley.

 Mrs. Nicholson is survived by her two daughters, Jean Byrd (Mike) of Greenwood and Karen Cobb (Bob) of Donalds, four grandchildren, Michael Byrd (Jennifer), Kevin Byrd (Erica) Kelsey C. DeLeon (Joe) and Louie Cobb (Anna); two great-grandchildren, Phillip and Andrew Byrd

 The family will receive friends from 2:00PM to 3:00PM on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, at 3:00PM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Matt Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery.

 The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Ansley Glen at Greenwood and Agape Hospice for the exceptional care and support provided to Mrs. Nicholson.
