Annie L. Humphries, 90, of Pendleton, formally of Abbeville, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at the Rainey Hospice House. She was born in Abbeville County to the late Walter and Vera Loftis Hughes. Mrs. Humphries was married to the late Euliaus Humphries. She retired from Greenwood Mills in 1985 and was a long time member of Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church in Abbeville. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Surviving Mrs. Humphries are her two daughters, Sara Ann Balentine and her husband Michael of Pendleton and Catherine Golden of Iva, SC; two step-daughters, Debra Jones of Donalds and Susan Bates and her husband Lee of Huntington, TN; a step-son, Bill Humphries and his wife Martha of Greenwood; a sister, Joyce Gilliam of Calhoun Falls; four grandchildren, Jennifer Foster, Thomas Mims (Krissi), Kimberly Wells (Earl) and Brian Christopher (Kim); eight great-grandchildren, Alexandria Foster, Hunter and Falynn Mims, Kira and Gage Wells, Austin and Leah Christopher and Anna Smith. Funeral services for Mrs. Humphries will be 2:00PM Friday, July 18, 2014 in Upper Long Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Wayne Wicker officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be in Long Cane Cemetery. The families are at their respective homes.
