Annie Maude James

Annie Maude James, 98, of Abbeville, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at her residence. She was born in Athens, GA to the late Joseph Levi and Elizabeth Murray James. Ms. James began her working career at a very early age at Abbeville Shirt Plant and later retired from Milliken – Abbeville Plant after many years of dedicated service. She was very talented and creative in working with various arts and crafts. In addition to her parents, Ms. James was preceded in death by three brothers, George James, Maurice James and Hoyt James; two sisters, Leah Viola James and Ida Lou James; brother-in-law, Albert Powell; and a niece, Jan James. Ms. James is survived by two sisters, Estelle Powell of Anderson and Bertha Mae Barton of Orlando, FL; two nephews, Mike James of Iva and Joe James and his wife, Kelly, of Abbeville; a niece, Karen Jordan and her husband, Robert, of Calhoun Falls; four great-nieces and nephews, Kristy Jordan Waters and her husband, Jody, Jennifer James Beasley and her husband, Mitchell, Brandon Jordan, and Levi James (Cassidy); and a numerous of great-great-nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM to 11:00AM on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11:30AM in the funeral home chapel with Billy Stoll officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson. The family is at the home Kelly and Joe James of Abbeville. Memorial contributions, in memory of Ms. James, may be sent to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646.
