Barbara Ann Rogers, 65, of the Sharon Community, wife of Sonny Rogers, died Monday, October 01, 2007 at AnMed Hospital in Anderson. She was born in Greenwood, SC to Marion Frances Berry Newton and the late William R. Newton. Mrs. Rogers was presently employed with Abbeville County as the Recycling Coordinator. She was a member of Rocky River Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Rogers was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all that knew her. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Caroline Wilde Rogers. Surviving Mrs. Rogers is her husband of 47 years of the home; her mother, Mary Frances B. Newton of Abbeville; a daughter, Laura R. Hembree and her husband Matthew of Greenwood; two sons, Rodney W. Rogers and his wife Jennifer; and Joey R. Rogers and his fiancAC.e Taylor Thompson all of Abbeville; three brothers, Thomas Oliver Newton of Abbeville, William Robert Newton, Jr. of Aiken and Rayford Newton of Lowndesville; two sisters, Mary Frances Harrison of Pelzer, and Juanita N. Hall of Williamston, SC; eight grandchildren, Ashley Marie Hembree, Kayla E. Hembree, Rebecca L. Hembree, Henry Rogers, Tabatha Rogers, Grier Lawton, Carter Rogers, and Brooklyn Rogers; and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at the Rocky River Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Graveside services will begin at 2:00PM following the visitation.
