Betty Jean 'Mickey' Morrow (Parnell)

Mickey Parnell Morrow, 84, of Calhoun Falls, SC, wife of the late Henry M. ‘Jug Head’ Morrow, died Thursday, August 11, 2022 at the McCormick Post-Acute Care Center. She was born in Lowndesville, SC to the late Pete and Sarah Waters Parnell.

Mrs. Morrow attended Calhoun Falls High School. A member of Calhoun Falls Church of God, she worshipped at Lowndesville Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mrs. Morrow was also a member of the Willing Workers and Golden Age Group of Calhoun Falls.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Miriam Jean Weick and Viola Mae McGee; two brothers, Edward W. ‘Repeat’ Parnell and James M. ‘Onion’ Parnell; and a sister, Janice M. Ferguson.

Mrs. Morrow is survived by her children, Henry David Morrow of Tignall, Ga, Melinda Ann Morrow of Greenwood, SC and Kelly Gunter (Thomas) of Houston, TX; two brothers, Carl William Parnell (Janice) and Richard L. ‘Rick’ Parnell (Marilyn) all of Iva, SC; two sisters, Sara Frances Payton (Donnie) of Iva, SC and Carol Sue Lunsford (Tom) of Elberton, Ga; twelve grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 1:30PM – 2:30PM, Sunday, August 14, 2022 in Harris Funeral Home, Calhoun Falls Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 3:00PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Scotty Willoughby officiating. Burial will follow in Latimer Cemetery.
