Charles W. ‘Billy’ Bowie, Jr., 68, of Abbeville, husband of Debra Bowie, died Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Continue Care Hospital, Palmetto Health Baptist in Columbia. He was born in Abbeville to the late Charles W. Bowie, Sr. and Margaret Latham Bowie.
A 1971 graduate of Abbeville High School, Billy was employed with Flexible Technologies as a quality technician, retiring after 29 years of service. His favorite place to relax was the mountains, especially in Maggie Valley, NC. An enthusiastic reader, Billy spent many happy hours with his books. A dedicated member of the Congregational Holiness Church, he taught the Auditorium Sunday School class.
Billy is survived by his wife of 46 years, Debra, of the home; a daughter, Niki Bowie; and a brother, Mike (Cindy) Bowie all of Abbeville.
A service to celebrate Billy’s life will be 4:00PM, Sunday, January 30, 2022, in Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville Chapel with Rev. Ray Massey officiating. Masks are requested. The family will receive friends following the service outside the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions, in memory of Billy, be sent to the Congregational Holiness Church, PO Box 946, Abbeville, SC 29620.
