Bob Campbell, 77, of Lake Secession, husband of Betty Suttles Campbell, died Sunday, January 2, 2022, at his home. He was born in the Nation Community to the late Pete and Winona Below Campbell.
Bob, known as the ‘Mayor of Antreville’, attended Calhoun Falls High School. Employed in the construction business, he could often be found farming and tinkering with tractors. Bob was a classic car enthusiast and member of the Wheels of Time car club. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing, Super Late Model Dirt Racing, and hunting. Time spent at A&P Automotive and around the table in Crawford’s Country Store brought him many happy hours. Bob was a member of Bells United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty, of the home; a son, Chuck Campbell (Leika), of Lake Secession; a brother, Wayman Campbell, of Honea Path; two grandchildren, Akila Campbell Allen (Mark) and Max Campbell; and a niece, Alyssa Mann (William) of the Nation Community.
The family will receive friends 1:00PM - 2:00PM, Thursday, January 6, 2022, in Bells United Methodist Church. Funeral services will begin at 2:30PM in the church sanctuary with Rev. Scott Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Tommy Alewine officiating.
