Bobby Joe Williams

Bobby Williams, 79, of the Nation Community, husband of Shirley Brock Williams, died Thursday, December 28, 2023, at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.  He was born in Abbeville to the late Joe L. Williams and Louise Rice Williams.

Bobby attended Abbeville County schools.  He was employed with Lake Russell Bait and Tackle in Lowndesville for many years.  Bobby was a loyal Mason and proud member of the Dew Drop Lodge #266 A.F.M. in Antreville.  He had many passions that brought him joy, one of which was woodworking.  Nature also held a special place in Bobby's heart. Camping trips allowed him to immerse himself in the great outdoors and find solace amidst the beauty of nature. But perhaps what defined Bobby most was his ability to connect with others through conversation.  Bobby was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Honea Path.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Shirley, of the home; two sons, Guy Williams of Abbeville and Kenneth Brock (Andrea) of Honea Path; daughter, Melinda Davis (John) of Abbeville; sister, Judy Ann Horton of Abbeville; three grandchildren, Michael Williams (Courtney), Emily Williams (Parker) and Travis Davis (Elizabeth); and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 1:00PM – 2:00PM, Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Harris Funeral Home.  Funeral services will begin at 2:30PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Russ Tollison officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Masonic rites. 

The family expresses their sincere appreciation to the nurses and doctor in the Neuro-ICU, 7^th South, AnMed Medical Center for their loving care of Bobby.
