Bonte Wilkerson Anderson

January 8, 1920 — December 6, 2012

Bonte Wilkerson Anderson, 92, died Thursday, at her home in Due West. The daughter of Samuel C. Lucile Rabb Wilkerson, she was born in York County, SC, and was a 1941 graduate of Erskine College and a retired employee of the State of South Carolina. She was the widow of Chief Petty Officer Wayne Ellie Anderson, U.S. Navy. CPO Anderson fought in WWII and was held at Makassar Prisoner of War Camp in Japan. He died in 1991. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Due West Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and was formerly a member of Centennial Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Columbia. She was a resident of Covenant Way, a community she dearly loved, for many years. The last member of her immediate family, she is survived by her nephew, Thomas R. Wilkerson, Jr., and two nieces, Pamela Wilkerson Mahoney and Marcella Salley McDaniel. A Memorial Service will be conducted by Rev. Calvin Draffin 3:00PM Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Covenant Way, Wylie Hall, 18 Frank Pressly Dr. The family expresses its thanks to the staff at Covenant Way and Wylie Hall for their years of care and attention, and to the wonderful ladies who offered additional care during Mrs. Anderson's final months; Susie, Sheir, Joy, Mary, Karen, Janice, Lisa, Christy, Hope, Cheryl, Sherrita and Allison.
