Bradley A. McCord, 76, of Abbeville, husband of the late Eva Mae Ashley McCord, died peacefully, surrounded by his family on Monday, November 1, 2010 at his son's home in Abbeville. He was born in Abbeville to the late James B. and Rebecca Anderson McCord. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Ethan McCord and two brothers, Jack and Marion McCord. Bradley served in the U.S. Army and retired from Pirelli Cable (now Prysmian Power Cables & Systems, LLC) after 29 years of dedicated service. He attended South Side Baptist Church and was a member of the Allen Crawford Sunday School Class. Surviving Bradley are three daughters, Maye M. O'Bannon and her husband Tony of Abbeville, Faye M. Schlock and her husband Fred of Greenwood and Janet M. Ferguson and her husband Barry of Abbeville; a son, James P. McCord and his wife Virginia of Abbeville; two brothers, Henry McCord and Albert McCord of Abbeville; seven grandchildren, Brad McCord, Ashley Tully, Amanda Ferguson, Alicia Shockley, Maegan Balchin, Mellody O'Bannon and Lisa Schlock; and four great-grandchildren, Ansley Tully, Marley Tully, Thomas Shockley and Claire Story. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Wednesday, November 3, 2010 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Earl Hartley officiating. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be the Allen Crawford Sunday School Class and Mr. Scurry Horne. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James P. McCord in Abbeville.
