Carole Lee Halsey

Carole passed away, at the age of 80, on September 21, 2024, in McCormick, SC surrounded by family. She was formerly of Lansing, MI.

Carole worked at General Motors and was a member of the United Auto Workers #652 since 1967 and retired after 30 & ½ years of service. After retirement, she worked at Nursing Homes and a Laundry Mat where she loved the patrons dearly. Carole had been a member of Alcoholics Anonymous since 1971 and quit smoking in 1984. Carole often put others before herself assisting her grandmother, aunt, and parents before their deaths.

Carole is survived by her children, Karea (Peter) Mulgrew, Kevin Nemetz, and Karon Nemetz; one sister and one brother along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Robert Halsey; former husbands, Lloyd LeRoy Williams, and Lawrence Robert Nemetz; her parents, John Peter and Margaret Ruth Abfalter, and her sister, Lois DeWitt.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the service starts at Noon.
