Charles L. "Charlie" Williams Jr.

Charles L. 'Charlie' Williams, Jr., 93, of Greenwood, SC, died Sunday, October 13, 2013 at his residence. He was born in McCormick County to the late Charles L. & Mabel Campbell Williams, Sr. Mr. Williams was a graduate of McCormick County Schools and received his degree from Strayer University. He was a WWII Veteran having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Williams retired after 30 years with the FBI. He attended Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church in Greenwood and was a member of the Society of Former FBI Agents. After retirement Mr. Williams became an avid Ballroom Dancer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Arminter 'Mint' Williams; a brother, James C. Williams; and a sister, Madlin Hubbell. Surviving Mr. Williams are three nephews; Robert Williams and his wife Brenda of Greenwood, Randy Hubbell and his wife Ellen of Utah and Rahn Hubbell and his wife Lori of Chicago; a niece, Phyllis Grimmer and her husband Mike of Dothan, AL; a sister-in-law, Mary Williams of Abbeville; a host of great nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Tina Burton, Cory Williams and Carrie Garner for their loving care given to Mr. Williams. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 7:30PM Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 2:00PM Wednesday, October 16, 2013 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Danny Wiley officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The families are at their respective homes. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Williams may be sent to the Greenwood Humane Society, 239 Wilbanks Circle, Greenwood, SC 29646 or a charity of one's choice.
