Chris 'Goofy' Burdette, 39, husband of Angie Fleming Burdette, died suddenly at his home on Sunday, September 21, 2014. He was born in Greenwood to Jimmy Ray 'Tadpole' Burdette and the late Melinda Wilson Burdette. Chris was a 1993 graduate of Abbeville High School Class and a graduate of Spartanburg Methodist College. He was currently employed with Anderson Transportation and Logistics and a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Chris was a mason and member of Clinton Masonic Lodge #3. He was an avid Clemson Tiger Fan and a dedicated husband, father, son, brother and friend to all. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Walt W. Fleming. Surviving Chris are his wife of 16 years of the home; three children that he adored, Micalyn, Kobe and Ayden; his father, Jimmy R. 'Tadpole' Burdette of Abbeville; a sister, Samantha Burdette (Chris); a brother, Jamey Burd Burdette (Jennifer) of Abbeville; three nieces, Addison Burdette, Kaylee Simpson and Miyah Fleming; two nephews, Devin Sawyer and Camdyn Adams; mother-in-law, Jeanette T. Fleming of Abbeville; two sisters-in-law, Crystal F. Simpson (Doug) of Hagerstown, MD and Shanna Fleming of Abbeville. Funeral services, to celebrate the life of Chris, will be 2:00PM Thursday, September, 25, 2014 at Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jason Wilson officiating. Entombment, with Masonic Rites, will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family is at the home.
