Claud W. Bond III, 67, of Abbeville, SC, husband of Robyn Garner Bond, died February 1, 2015 at the Hospice House in Greenwood. He was born in Abbeville to the late Claud, Jr and Rebecca Baughman Bond. Mr. Bond was a 1965 graduate of Abbeville High and a graduate of Anderson College. He was an Engineer with the CSX Railroad and retired after 41½ years of dedicated service. Mr. Bond was a member of North Side Baptist Church in Greenwood and the Faithful Sunday School class. He was a former deacon and Sunday School teacher of the church. Mr. Bond was a member of the Greenwood East Gideon camp. He was also a Mason and served in the Army Reserves. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Ryan Bond. Mr. Bond is survived by his wife of 40 years, Robyn, of the home; two sons, Will Bond and his wife Anna of Greenwood and Matthew Bond of Charleston; three sisters, Margaret Wikman and her husband Bob of Anderson, Becky Fernandez and her husband Bobby of Greenwood, and Marion Ware of Due West; two grand-daughters, Emma and Ella Bond of Greenwood, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Service to Celebrate the Life of Mr. Bond will be held Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 4:00 pm in North Side Baptist Church, Greenwood with Rev. Dr. Jeff Lethco, Rev. Eldridge Kelly, and Mr. Van Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall of the church.
