Clemont "Jerell" Hilley, 90, of Calhoun Falls, SC, husband of the late Ada Crocker Hilley, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Monday, March 02, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Iva, SC to the late Luther Allen Hilley and Hattie Campbell Hilley. Mr. Hilley was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. After serving his country, Mr. Hilley lived in California and worked as a superintendent at Kaiser Steel for many years. He, then, moved to Florida to start his own welding and Fabrication Company and retired to Calhoun Falls, SC. Mr. Hilley was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner. He was of the protestant faith. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Hilley was preceded in death by two brothers, Luther and Carlos; and three sisters, Ruth, Frances, and Mildred. Mr. Hilley is survived by two daughters, Theresa Hilley Lowe and her husband Johnny and Karen Hilley Lowe and her husband Ronnie, all of Seffner, FL; two sisters, Audrey Echols of Hanahan, SC and Irma Slater of Calabash, NC; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 1:30pm – 2:30 pm at Harris Funeral Home Calhoun Falls Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
