Cloris Allie Moss Sorrow, 76, of Abbeville, wife of Edwin L. Sorrow, Sr., died Saturday, June 13, 2009 at her residence. She was born in Elbert County, GA to the late Floyd J., Sr. and Virginia Johnson Moss. Mrs. Sorrow was a member of the Missionary Movement Church in Abbeville. She was a former employee at the Abbeville Manufacturing Plant and Abbeville Shirt Makers. Mrs. Sorrow will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great –grandmother and friend. Her passion above all was caring for others. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd J. Moss, Jr. She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years of the home; two sons, Lamar Sorrow, Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Anderson and Brad Davenport of Ware Shoals, SC; four daughters, Emily S. Partain and her husband Leonard of Abbeville, Beverly Sorrow of Anderson, Sharon S. Shaw and her husband Doug of Anderson and Samantha S. Polatty and her husband Lee of Abbeville; a sister Doris Tucker and her husband James of Antreville, SC; nine grandchildren, Andrea Partain, Ben Partain, Lauren Manley, Hannah Chasteen. Susanne Shaw, Trai Sorrow, Tasha Lancaster, Kaitlynn Polatty, and Taylor Polatty; and seven great-granchildren, Braden Sorrow, Tanner Sorrow, Lilly Partain, Mollie Anna Page, Tye Chasteen, Brent Chasteen, and Katie Lancaster. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Monday, June 15, 2009 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tye Sorrow and Rev. Ronald Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery. The family is at the residence.
