Daniel Erskine Parnell, Jr.

Daniel Erskine Parnell, Jr. 71, known affectionately as "Bro" or "Danny" to his loved ones, passed away on August 2, 2024, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital. He was born on December 14, 1952, in Annapolis, MD. He was a son of the late Daniel Erskine Parnell Sr. and Grace Watson Parnell Crain.

Throughout his life, Daniel dedicated many years to serving the South Carolina prison system, leaving a lasting impact on all those he encountered. Daniel's educational journey included graduating from Laurens High School in 1970 and later completing his studies at Greenville Technical College.Among his proudest accomplishments were his membership in the Laurens Lions Club, his involvement with the Bell Federation Center of the Blind, and his active participation in Highland Home Baptist Church in Gray Court. 

Daniel is survived by his sisters Wanda Stuckey and Sharon Ferlong. Graveside service will be held Friday, August 9, 2024 at 2 PM at Latimer Cemetery in Calhoun Falls. The family will greet friends and family immediately following the service.
