Darilyn King Ricketts, 58, of Abbeville, wife of the late Tommy Ricketts, died Thursday, May 22, 2014 in Abbeville. She was born in Abbeville to Wanda Branyon King and the late David T. King, Sr. Darilyn was a 1974 graduate of Abbeville High School and received her Nursing degree from Piedmont Technical College. Darilyn was a devoted nurse having worked in the Elberton, GA Hospital, Abbeville Hospital and the Carlise Nursing Center in Due West. She was presently employed with the Abbeville Nursing Home. Darilyn was a member of Lebanon Presbyterian and was attending Lower Long Cane Presbyterian Church. She was an avid outdoors woman, having a passion for hunting, fishing and riding horses. Darilyn loved people and she was loved by many. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her father and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy King. Surviving Darilyn are her mother of the home; a daughter, Jessica Ricketts, D.V.M. of Sumter; two sons, Thad Ricketts (April) and Dustan Ricketts (Katie) both of Abbeville; a beloved friend, Al Dansby of Abbeville; two sisters, Terry K. Hughes and Angie King both of Abbeville; and five grandchildren, Corey, Blake, Kaleigh, Cali and Eli. The family will receive friends from 3:00PM to 4:30PM Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 5:00PM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Robbie Burton and Rev. Mike Horne officiating. The family is at the home of Mrs. Wanda King in Abbeville.
