David Sorrow

David Sorrow, 75, of Abbeville, husband of the late Linda Jean McElreath Sorrow, died Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the Abbeville Area Medical Center. He was born in Abbeville to the late George David Sorrow, Sr. and Eunice Wooten Sorrow.

A 1968 graduate of Abbeville High School and 1972 graduate of Erskine College, David was employed with Canal Wood Corporation before retiring after many years of service. A true enthusiast of the timeless beauty of classic cars, David found immense joy in his 1965 Pontiac GTO. He also enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors. David held his family close to his heart, especially his daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Michael. His grandson, Mason, was the absolute light of his life. He was of the Baptist faith and acknowledged Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. 

David is survived by his daughter, Amy Sorrow Hannah (Michael); sister, Kathy Sorrow Taylor of Columbia; and his beloved grandson, Mason Hannah of Abbeville.

The family will receive friends 9:30AM – 10:30AM, Friday, February 7, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home. A celebration of David’s life will begin at 11:00AM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dr. Alvin Hodges officiating.
