Dawn Williams

Dawn B. Williams, 84, of Abbeville, died Friday, February 9, 2024 at Self Regional Hospital in Greenwood. She was born in Abbeville to the late Guy Winchester Baker and Anna Ramey Baker.

Dawn, a 1957 graduate of Abbeville High School, began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant working at both the Abbeville Hospital and Anderson Hospital.  Following her career as a CNA, she served as the secretary for the Abbeville County Fire Headquarters for an impressive 15 years.  Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dawn’s true spirit was defined by her role as a caregiver for those in need.  She lived a remarkable life that was defined by her selflessness and commitment to helping others.  She was a member of Westside Church of Christ. 

Dawn is survived by her son, Guy Williams; daughter, Melinda Davis (John); all of Abbeville; three grandchildren; Travis Davis (Elizabeth), Michael Williams (Courtney), Emily Williams (Parker Carroway); and two great-grandchildren, Magnolia Davis and Augustus Davis.

Funeral services will be 3:00PM Tuesday, February 13, 2024, in Harris Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Thomas Collier officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.  

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions in memory of Dawn, be sent to the charity of one’s choice.
