Donald Ray Whitman Sr.

Donald Ray Whitman, Sr., 81, of Lowndesville, died Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at his home. He was born in Iva to the late Prince Alvin Whitman and Bessie Linnie Whitman.
Mr. Whitman attended Calhoun Falls High School and honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was employed in construction and law enforcement. Mr. Whitman found great pleasure in collecting jewelry and was of the Church of God faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donald Ray Whitman, II, two brothers, Talmadge Alvin Whitman and Julian ‘Mickey’ Whitman; and a sister, Willie Kate Phillips.
Mr. Whitman is survived by three grandchildren, Bobbi Rae Whitman, Amy Whitman and Brandon Whitman; a sister, Linnie Ruth McCoullough of Iva; and many great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10:00AM, Saturday, October 9, 2021 in the Iva City Cemetery.
