Doris Moss Tucker, 82, of Abbeville, wife of the late James Cleveland Tucker, died Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Hospice House in Greenwood. She was born in Elberton, GA to the late Floyd Moss, Sr. and Virginia Johnson Moss.
Mrs. Tucker was a 1954 graduate of the Nancy Hart High School in Elberton, GA. In 1956 she married the late James Cleveland Tucker and they were married for 53 years. She became an associate with Flexible Technologies March 13, 1967 and retired 30 years later on July 31, 1997. Mrs. Tucker was a member of Rocky River Baptist Church in Iva, SC.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Cloris Sorrow; brother Junior Moss; brothers-in-law, Edwin Sorrow, Frank Tucker, James Mattison, and Charlie Tucker.
Mrs. Tucker is survived by her two sons, James Michael Tucker (Cynthia) and Richard Lamar Tucker (Anne); five grandchildren, Alisha Norton, Brandi Ethridge, Brooke Brown (Chase), Kayla Hammond (Ricky), Denise Karlton (George); eight great grandchildren, Hayden Ethridge, Peyton Cleveland, Alec Norton, Ella Brown, Drayton Brown, Bethany Hammond, Kinsley Hammond and Riley Rose Karlton; five sisters-in-law, Sara Moss, Caroleen Mattison, Louise Tucker, Judy Elder and Barbara Scharling and one brother-in-law, Harry Scharling.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 12:00Noon Wednesday, April 11, 2018 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Bobby Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Rocky River Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chase Brown.
