Dorothy Gentry Mccarter

Dorothy Gentry McCarter, 91, formally of Antreville, wife of the late Marion "Buck" McCarter, died Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at Mountain View Health Care Center. She was born July 16, 1915 in Starr, SC daughter of the late William Thomas and Zulia Bannister Gentry. Mrs. McCarter was a retired school teacher, having taught at Antreville, Iva, and Crescent High Schools for 39 years. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, a devoted worker in church, Eastern Star, Lilly Garden Club, and Abbeville Council of Garden Clubs. She is survived by her two sister-in-laws, Martha Gentry wife of the late Thomas Gentry of Baton Rouge, LA, and their children, Thomas Gentry and his wife Rhonda of Shreveport, LA, Darryl Gentry and his wife Priscilla and their son Aaron of Reading, PA, Craig Gentry and his wife Nicole and their daughter, Claudia of New Orleans, Petty Gentry wife of the late Doug Gentry of Clemson, their son, Douglas Gentry and his wife Robin and their five children; Benjamin, Timothy, Jonathan, Jessica, and Abigail of Clemson, two nieces, Patty Gentry Lawrence and her husband Bob and their two children, Jeremy and Lindsay of Portland, OR, and Ginny Gentry Buchanan and her son Will of Clemson. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM Saturday, January 27, 2007 at Shiloh United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00PM in the church conducted by the Rev.
