Dustin Lee Smith, 30, of Iva, passed away and joined the Lord in Heaven on April 18, 2021. He was born December 18, 1990 in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Dustin was widely known to be an exceptional individual. In his youth, he was athletic, excelling in many sports including t-ball, basketball and especially football. As he grew older, it was common to see his name and picture in the newspaper for the outstanding plays he made as a linebacker for the Fort Mill High School football team. In addition to his athletic ability, he was a very capable student, being regularly listed on the honor roll. Dustin had a caring heart, ready to help at anytime and friends were blessed to have him in their lives. He loved his family, especially his parents and brothers. Near the end of his earthly life, he grew closer to Christ and very strong in his faith. Dustin was excited to share the love of God with his family, friends and co-workers. He is gratefully remembered as an outstanding son, brother and friend.
Dustin was preceded in death by his grandfather, Earl Lee Hall, and sister, Courtney Noelle Smith.
He is survived by his mother and father, Novella and John Matthew Smith; two brothers, Brandon John Smith (Lillie Smith) and Zechariah Harrison Smith (Melissa Smith); grandparents, Brenda Hall, David J. (Pamela) Herron, Peter J. (Connie) Smith and Margie Runyon.
