Edith C. Rosenberg, 85, of Abbeville, wife of Dr. George V. Rosenberg, died Friday, April 25, 2008 at the Abbeville Area Medical Center. She was born in Due West, SC to the late Manning B. and Grace E. Donnald Cochran. Mrs. Rosenberg was a 1939 graduate of Laurens High School. She attended Lander University for one year and then went on to the Roper Hospital School of Nursing in Charleston, SC. Mrs. Rosenberg was an avid horse lover, which was a big part of her life. She and her husband owned a horse farm where she raised Rose Araby Arabian horses, many of which won top prizes in various horse shows. She was also the owner and operator of Rosenberg Antiques for many years. Mrs. Rosenberg was actively involved in her community where she was a member of different organizations and boards including the Greater Abbeville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband, of 65 years, of the home; two daughters, Grace R. Nelson of Anderson and Patsy R. Riley and her husband Milburn of Westminister, SC; a son, Herbert Manning Rosenberg and his wife Patrice of Abbeville; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the home of Herby and Patrice Rosenberg, 1404 N. Main St., Abbeville. Graveside services will be 4:00PM Sunday, April 27, 2008 in Melrose Cemetery.
