Elba Arlena Calvert McLane, wife of the late Foster Bradley (Buck) McLane Jr. and beloved mother of Foster, Riley, and Joe McLane, entered her Heavenly rest on Monday, September 24, 2012. She was born July 26, 1914 in Pelzer, SC to the late Joe Ephraim and Julia Hazeltine Young Calvert (Sechrest). She was a longtime and faithful member of the Abbeville/Mt. Carmel Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband and their daughter, Donna Maria McLane; brother, Joe Archie Calvert, and sisters, Gladys Calvert Turman, Nell Calvert Johnson and Pearl Calvert. She is survived by sons SGM (Ret) Foster Bradley McLane III and wife Lynda of Spartanburg SC, James Riley McLane, and wife Carolin of Abbeville, SC and Joseph Calvert McLane and wife Eula of Hartwell, GA; four grandchildren, Jeni McLane Barrantes and husband Pablo of Costa Rica, James Gregory McLane of Spartanburg, SC, Dr. James Bradley McLane and wife Dr. Deidra Schelin McLane of Austin ,TX, and Christi McLane Willis of Tyler, TX; and great-grandchildren, Jalen Isiah Willis, Emerson Grace McLane and sister Bentley Hope McLane, Elena Barrantes and brother Lucas Barrantes. Graveside services will be held 2:00PM Thursday, September 27, 2012 in Melrose Cemetery, Hwy 28 N and Hwy 71W in Abbeville. The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside. The families are at their respective homes.
