Eleanor C. Holmes

Eleanor Alewine Holmes, 86, of Calhoun Falls, SC, wife of the late T.E. Holmes, died Friday, January 21, 2022, at Self Regional Healthcare. She was born in Abbeville County, SC to the late Porter B. Alewine and Lottie Young Alewine.

A 1953 graduate of Dixie High School, Mrs. Holmes was employed in textiles for many years, retiring from the West Point Stevens Plant in Calhoun Falls. She was a member of Calhoun Falls Pentecostal Holiness Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Terry ‘Pistol Ball’ Simpson, Danny Simpson and Tony Holmes; a daughter, Sherry Simpson; and sister, Annie Lee O’Quinn.

Mrs. Holmes is survived by her son, Brian Holmes (Danya) of Beaufort, SC; and a grandson, Devon Holmes of Abbeville, SC.

Funeral services will be 3:00PM, Sunday, January 23, 2022, in the Calhoun Falls Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Jim Howard officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will follow in Little River Baptist Church.
