Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Holmes Peeler, 94, wife of the late Cliff Peeler, of Loganville, GA, formerly of Abbeville, SC, died Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at The Retreat at Loganville. She was born in Spartanburg to the late William Oscar Holmes and Bertha Mathis Holmes.
Betty was reared in Spartanburg and employed by Southern Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator for 37 years. Shopping brought her much pleasure and she was affectionately known as ‘a shop ‘til you drop’ kind of lady. Betty also enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and was an excellent cook.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, Jerry Clifford Peeler, Ronald Edwin Peeler and Dale Brantley Peeler; and several brothers and sisters.
Betty is survived by her brother, Fred Holmes, of Aiken, SC; her daughters-in-law, Kathy Peeler and Linda Peeler, both of Loganville, GA; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a wide circle of extended family and friends.
Graveside services will be 1:30PM, Thursday, October 10, 2019 in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
