Ella Grace Powell Mobley

Ella Grace Powell Mobley, 75, of Abbeville, widow of the late Sam Mobley, died Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood. She was born in Calhoun Falls, SC to the late John M. & Lou Ella Evans Powell. Mrs. Mobley retired from the textile industry and was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, James Fleming; two brothers, John L. Powell and Richard M. Powell. Surviving Mrs. Mobley are three sons, Walter Fleming and his wife Jeanette of Abbeville, William "JR" Fleming, Jr., of Abbeville and Jim Mobley of Michigan; three daughters, Marie Bradford of Abbeville, Johnnie Haggerty and her husband Stanley of Georgia and Kim Root and her husband Nick of Florida; a daughter-in-law, Betty Fleming of Ware Shoals; three sisters, Jeweline Putman, Mary Strickland and Eunice Powell all of Calhoun Falls, SC; eighteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM to 11:00AM Monday, February 8, 2010 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11:30AM with the Rev. Marion Argo officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family is at their respective homes. Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Mobley may be sent to the HospiceCare of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646.
