Elsie Harris Mattison

Elsie Harris Mattison, 92, of Donalds, widow of the late Alfred Clinton Mattison, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the Hospice House of the Upstate in Anderson. She was born in Anderson County to the late William A. and Bessie Culbertson Harris. Mrs. Mattison was a retired seamstress and a member of Southside Baptist Church in Honea Path. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Clyde, Roy, Ernest, Truman, Adger and John Harris; three sisters, Flossie Burton, Ruth Gambrell and Frankie Culbertson; and a great-grandson, Troy Mattison. Mrs. Mattison is survived by a son, Ronald "Ronnie" Mattison and his wife Lucille of Anderson; a daughter, Jennie Elaine Uldrick of Donalds; a sister, Mary Bagwell of Greenville; four grandchildren, Scott and Lisa Mattison, Brian and Leighann Mattison, Toni and Freddie Gilmer and Shelia and Bryan Goodwin; seven great-grandchildren, BJ Gilmer, Clint Mattison, Sam Gilmer, Levi Mattison, Ryan Mattison, Mattie Claire Goodwin and Millie Kate Goodwin. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Thursday, October 22, 2009 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home of Ms. Jennie Elaine Uldrick, Hwy 184, Donalds, SC. Memorial contributions, in memory of Mrs. Mattison, may be sent to the Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621 or a charity of one's choice.
