Evan Blair Campbell, 18, born to Bryan and Heather Campbell of Greenwood, SC, on July 8, 1998, died Sunday, April 30, 2017. Evan was a member of the Greenwood Christian School Class of 2017 and a member of NewSpring Church. His love of playing basketball is evident in his senior quote from his coach Josh Chiles, “Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard.” Evan was a team captain and could rally the sidelines with his epic 3-point shots. He was also a member of the golf team. He wanted to be remembered as a person who helped people come to Christ. His bright and beautiful smile was contagious, and he was best known for his energetic personality and passion for sports. He enjoyed working with kids as a student assistant with the elementary PE classes and as a leader in his church’s kids’ ministry. He was an avid Clemson and Abbeville fan who loved to talk about all things Tigers and Panthers. In addition to his parents, he is survived by siblings Erica and Will; maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Richard Blair of Youngstown, OH; paternal grandparents Benny and Carolyn Campbell of Abbeville, and Anne Parker of Laurens; great-grandfather Richard Blair of Naples, FL.
