Fannie Mae Wright Williams, 86, wife of the late Booker T. Williams, of Abbeville died Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the Hospice House in Greenwood. She was born in Abbeville to the late Joseph and Georgia Smith Wright.
Mrs. Williams was employed for many years with the Fogle Plant, presently Rondy & Co. She was a longtime, active member of Washington Street Presbyterian Church and the Women’s Aid Society. Mrs. Williams was truly the matriarch of her family, loving and leading each member through her example.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bennie Lee Williams; a daughter, Mary Crawford; and a brother, John Oliver Wright.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her three sons, Ollie Ray Williams, of Abbeville, James Roosevelt Williams of Augusta, GA, and Robert L. Williams of Abbeville; six daughters, Martha Killingsworth (Claude), of Abbeville, Fritzella Devaux (Archie) of Irmo, Geraldine W. Brownlee (Horace), Geneva W. Tate, Dorothy W. Coates and Lucille Fossett, all of Abbeville; a brother, James Albert Jordan (Bell), of Abbeville; eighteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Williams will be 11:00AM Monday, February 26, 2018 at Campfield Baptist Church, Campfield Church Rd., Abbeville.
