Floyd Dwight Thomas, 73, husband of Peggy Thomas (née Tuckey), of Savannah Lakes died Monday, April 16, 2018, at the Hospice House in Greenwood, SC. Born in Mishawauka, Indiana, he was the son of the late Raymond Dwight Thomas and Sara Silberman Thomas.
Mr. Thomas honorably served his country in the United States Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a 1974 graduate of La Salle University. Mr. Thomas was employed as a regional sales manager with Reliable Automatic Sprinkler Company and retired in 2010. He spent many wonderful hours on the golf course in Savannah Lakes, loved hiking and was at his happiest when he was outdoors. Mr. Thomas was a member of McCormick United Methodist Church
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Thomas.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife of 42 years, Peggy, of McCormick; his son, Kevin David Thomas (Sutton), of Astoria, NY; daughters, Tracy Thomas Cossabone (Arthur), of Willingboro, NJ; and Brynn Morseman (Chuck) of Perry, GA; his brother, Tom Thomas (Linda), of New Hampshire; his sister, Ann Thomas (Dan Rabinowitz), of New York, NY; and five grandchildren, Charlie, Rachel, David, Maggie Beth, and Benjamin.
A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Thomas will be Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at McCormick United Methodist Church with the Rev. Nels Ledwell officiating.
