Frances Ferguson King, 85, of Abbeville, wife of the late Allen T. King, died Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at The Renaissance in Due West. She was born in Abbeville County to the late James Allen and Sara Simpson Ferguson. Mrs. King retired from Milliken & Co – Abbeville Plant after many years of service. She found great pleasure in gardening and growing flowers; however, her heart belonged to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. King was a member of Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church and will be remembered for her loving and gracious personality. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Ferguson; a sister, Joyce Ferguson, and two son-in-law's, Todd Dobbins and Ronnie Brown. Mrs. King is survived by her two daughters, Cheryl King Dobbins of Abbeville and Dena King Brown of Iva; three sisters, Julia Ferguson Price and her husband, Harrison and Sandra Ferguson, all of Abbeville and Marilyn Ferguson Gilmer and her husband, Gary of Donalds; three grandchildren, Trish (Donald), Ron (fiancée Anna White), A.J. (Jessica Debien); six great-grandchildren, Madison, Avery, Asa, C.J., Drake, and Gracie; and beloved friends, Kim Jordan, Bobbie Jean Fisher, and Ann Barnes. Graveside Services will be 4:00pm, Thursday, March 17, 2016, in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Rev. Wayne Wicker officiating. The family is at the home of her daughter, Dena King Brown, at the lake.
