Frank L. Baggett, 90, of Due West, husband of Mabel Ware Baggett, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the Hospice House in Greenwood. He was born in Lane, SC to the late Franklin L. and Emmie Brown Baggett, Sr. Mr. Baggett was a graduate of Kingstree High School and proudly served his country with the U.S. Army in the Railroad Division during WWII. He retired from the CSX Railroad with 42½ years of dedicated service. He was a Past Commander of the American Legion Post #126 in Moncks Corner where he has been a member for 61 years. Mr. Baggett was an honorary member of the Moncks Corner Masonic Lodge#269 and a member of the Abbeville American Legion Post #2. His memory will live on through his wife, daughters, grandchildren, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine B. Hall and Margaret B. Tuttle; and two grandsons, Bryon Mitchell Veach and Wade Ezekiel Boyd, III. Surviving Mr. Baggett is his wife, Mabel, the love of his life for 63 years, of the home; three daughters, Debra B. Padgett of Greenwood, SC, Caroline B. Boyd and her husband Wade of Winston Salem, NC and Frances Lynn Veach and her husband Tom of Due West, SC; and three grandchildren, Shannon Ferrer, Ethan Padgett and Amy Boyd Meza. A Service to Celebrate the Life of Mr. Baggett will be 3:00PM Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Due West ARP Church. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the church cemetery.
