Gary Driver, Sr., 70, of the Antreville Community in Abbeville County, husband of Brenda Gibbs Driver, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 03, 2012. He was born in Pelzer, SC to the late John C. & Grace Bishop Driver. Mr. Driver served in the Vietnam War with the U.S. Army. He worked for many years as a lineman, building power lines. Mr. Driver was a member of First Creek Baptist Church where he was a member of the Men's Sunday School Class. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 5996 in Anderson, a member of the DAV and served as a Commissioner with the Military Order of the Cootie within the VFW National Home Fire Dept. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Shelby and Eula Driver. Surviving Mr. Driver is his loving wife of 43 years of the home; three children, Tracy M. Driver of Belton, Clarence Gary "Junior" Driver, Jr. of Williamston and Tanya D. Foxworth and her husband Chris of Iva; four brothers, James Driver of Anderson, George Driver of Tennessee, Kenneth Driver of Iva and Tom Driver of Holden Beach, NC; a sister, Barbara Gilreata of Easley; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 3:00PM to 4:00PM on Friday, January 6, 2012 at First Creek Baptist Church. Funeral Services will begin at 4:00 in the church sanctuary with the Rev. Donnie Murdock officiating. Burial will follow in Old Silver Brook Cemetery in Anderson with military honors. The family is at the residence.
