George M. a?~Skeeta?(TM) Mobley, 74, of Abbeville, husband of Helen Singleton Mobley, died peacefully on Friday, December 3, 2010 at the AnMed Medical Center in Anderson. He was born in Abbeville to the late Charlie C. & Ruby Scott Mobley. Mr. Mobley retired from Greenwood Mills after 35 years of dedicated service. He served in the Abbeville County Division of the National Guard for 11 years. 'Skeet,' as he was most lovingly known, was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved working with wood and spending time outdoors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Linda Partain and Carolyn Cheshire. Surviving 'Skeet' is his wife of 56 years of the home; a daughter, Mary M. Hedden of Abbeville; two brothers, Pete Mobley and his wife Judy of Minot, North Dakota and Benny Mobley and his wife Frances of Westminister, SC; four sisters, Mary Alice Cox and her husband Ronnie of Calhoun Falls, Gwen Pye of Chesnee, SC, Marolyn Whited and her husband Harold of Greenwood and Debbie Hayes and her husband Sammy of Georgia; two grandchildren, Ann Humphreys and Michael Hedden both of Abbeville; and four great-grandchildren, Alexis, James Avery, Taylor and Michael Cade. The family will receive friends from 2:00PM to 3:30PM on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 4:00PM in the funeral home chapel.
