Gladys Hall Saxon Link, 93, of Abbeville, died peacefully December 31, 2010 at the Hospice House in Greenwood. She was born in Elberton, GA to the late Jimmy and Mary Belle Hall. Mrs. Link was co-owner and operator with her husband of LinkA?A?A½s Grocery on Trinity Street in Abbeville. She was widely known and appreciated for her hot dogs and pies that were served at the store. She was faithful to her church, loved the Lord, and held her family, especially her grandchildren, close to her heart. Mrs. Link was a member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church and formally taught Sunday school at Warrenton Presbyterian Church for twenty-eight years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Link was preceded in death by her first husband William Warren Saxon, her late husband of 50 years, Claude Link, two brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Link is survived by a son, Larry Saxon and his wife, Jackie, of Abbeville; a brother, Joe Hall and his wife, Louise, of Waterloo; a sister-in-law, Mae Saxon Waldrop, of Abbeville; five grandchildren, Laura Boyd of Greenwood, William Saxon, Robert Saxon, Jimmy Saxon and Kristin Stone, all of Abbeville; eight great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family is at their respective homes. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Harris Funeral Home with funeral services at 2:30PM in the funeral home chapel.
