Gloria Bonds Ellis

Gloria Bonds Ellis, 75, of Calhoun Falls, wife of the late William Leslie ‘Bigfoot’ Ellis, died Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Self Regional Healthcare. Born July 29, 1949 in Athens, Ga, she was the daughter of the late Clinton Junior and Gaynelle Rucker Bonds.

A 1967 graduate of Abbeville High School, Gloria furthered her education by earning a nursing degree from Piedmont Technical College as well as a Business degree from Georgia Business College. A retired nurse at Self Regional Healthcare, she spent 14 years of her career on the Surgical Floor (5 West), touching countless lives with her compassionate care for her patients. Gloria’s greatest joy came from her family. Her love for them was evident in everything she did. A member of Solid Rock Community Church, Gloria contributed time and kindness, offering strength and support to those around her.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Cade.

Gloria is survived by her children, Rev. John C. Ellis (Sunshine) of Calhoun Falls, Leisa Ellis Ulrich (Michael) of Statham, Ga and Angela Bonds Cade of Calhoun Falls; eight grandchildren, Johnathan Ellis (Amelia), Will Ulrich, Anna Grace Griffin (Austin), Zach Ulrich, Noel Martin (Josh), Marcus Bonds (Jodie), Felicia Martinez (Jean) and Adriana Cade; fifteen great-grandchildren; and her beloved fur baby, Sam.

The family will receive friends 1:00PM – 2:00PM, Friday, February 28, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home, Calhoun Falls Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 2:30PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. John Ellis and Rev, Allan Burden officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
