Gloria Dorothea "Grigsby" Reames

Gloria Grigsby Reames, 77, of Abbeville, wife of Jack Reames, Jr., died Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the Abbeville Nursing Home.  She was born in Greenwood to the late Jake Luke Grigsby and Dorothy Addy Grigsby.

A 1959 graduate of Saluda High School, Mrs. Reames graduated from Lander College School of Nursing in 1961.  She retired from Abbeville Memorial Hospital after 39 years of service. Gloria’s caring demeanor was evident through her dedication to her family, co-workers and patients.  She was a member of Abbeville First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Grigsby.

Mrs. Reames is survived by her husband, Jack, of 54 years, and a son, Johnson Reames, both of the home; a daughter, Dorothy Reames Odom (Rickey) of Abbeville; and three grandchildren, Taylor, Leanna, and Deakon.

The family will receive friends 2:30pm – 3:30pm, Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville Chapel.  Funeral services will begin 4:00pm at Abbeville First Baptist Church.  A private burial will be held in Melrose Cemetery.
