Grace A. Jolin, 89, of Abbeville, SC, wife of William J. ‘Bill’ Jolin, died Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at her residence. She was born in Montoursville, PA to the late Albert H. and Thelma Tallman Barto.
Mrs. Jolin was an artist, employed with Kodak, retiring after ten years of service. A homemaker, she excelled in her ability to cook and sew. Known as the ‘poppy lady’, Mrs. Jolin was a life member of the VFW and DAV Auxiliaries and also Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She loved her family and was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. Time spent with family was a favorite past time and gave her many hours of happiness.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, David William Jolin and Harold John ‘Sonny J’ Jolin; brother, Marvin Barto; and two sisters, Loyi Wright and Viola Crawford.
Mrs. Jolin is survived by her husband of 72 years, Bill, of the home; two daughters, Virginia ‘Ginny’ Marie Jolin Gillen of Abbeville, SC and Mary Esther Jolin Burns (Bill) of Greenville, SC; sister, Esther Watson of Crewe, VA; eight grandchildren, Heather (Brian), Eli, Eamon, Trent, Tyler, Clay, Devin (Josephine) and Suean; and ten great-grandchildren, Taylor, Mariah, Kasey, Caleb, Clementine, Eaman, Jr., Abby, Elizabeth, Aiden, and Kaylee.
A Memorial Mass will be 11:00AM, Friday, December 17, 2021, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Abbeville, SC. Inurnment will follow in M. J. ‘Dolly’ Cooper Cemetery Columbarium, 140 Inway Drive, Anderson, SC 29621.
