Haskel Gibson, 86, of Calhoun Falls, husband of Louise 'Boots' Gibson, died Sunday, August 9, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Pelzer, SC to the late Alex and Dora Crocker Gibson. Mr. Gibson served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Pirelli Cable Corporation after 26 years of dedicated service. Since 1954 Mr. Gibson has been a faithful member of the Faith Harvest Fellowship. He taught Sunday School for 40 years, served as the Sunday School Superintendent and held various positions within the church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Amos and J.D. Gibson and two sisters, Sadie Gibson and Dealie Mae Dixon. Mr. Gibson is survived by his wife of 64 years and 7 months; two sons, Wesley Gibson and his wife Kelly and Rickey Gibson and his wife Cindy both of Calhoun Falls; seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Tuesday, August 11 at the Harris Funeral Home Calhoun Falls Chapel. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Wednesday, August 12 in the Faith Harvest Fellowship with the Rev. Mike Ford and Rev. Brian Hatchett officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with military honors. The family is at the home.
