Hazel Phillips Driver

Hazel Phillips Driver, 74, wife of the late R.E. Driver, of Abbeville, died Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Self Regional Medical Center. She was born in Robbinsville, NC to the late Otis and Mae Stratton Phillips. Mrs. Driver worked for twenty-six years with the Rocky River Plant and was of the Baptist faith. She was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to everyone that knew her. In addition to her husband and parents Mrs. Driver was preceded in death by a son, Danny L. Driver; a grandson, Dustin L. Driver; and two brothers, J.B. and Ronnie Phillips. Surviving Mrs. Driver are her three sons, Donnie Johnson of Belton, Shane Driver and his wife Victoria of Abbeville and Carey Driver and his wife Mellie of Abbeville; three daughters, Elaine Carswell and her husband, Keith, Tina Shuler and Latoya Dawson, all of Belton; a brother, Richard Phillips of Kentucky; a sister, Frances Newcome of Kentucky; fourteen grandchildren, Sommer Mather, MaryBeth Driver, Taylor Driver, Cody Driver, Candice Driver, Jake Driver, Cody Crumpton, Amanda Whidby, Anja Durham, Chris Gable, Scotty Driver, Jennifer Shaw, Jason Johnson and Caleb Johnson; twenty-four great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kyle, Natalie, Bryson, Cheyenne, Kalie, Tyler, Emmalee, Gracie, Chase, McKayla, Cailet, Austin, Brantley, Nathan, Mary Faye, Jacqueline, Lindsay, Chase, Hunter, Tori, Caleb, Logan, Dominick and Ava; and a host of extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 3:00PM to 4:00PM Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 4:30PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family is at their respective homes.
