They had two surviving children George Hagan Haddon Jr. (now deceased) and Jean Haddon Thies of Fort Mill, SC. An earlier child, Michael Paul died as an infant. She is also survived by her son-in-law James F. Thies of Fort Mill and her two adored grandchildren Victor Paul Schelechow of West Hartford, CT and Anna Elizabeth Thies of Charleston, SC. We would also like to include Joyce Lee of West Hartford, CT. Hazel is the daughter of the late Myrth Jim Killingsworth and Wilma Dodson Killingsworth of Ware Shoals, SC. She was born in 1926 in Ware Shoals as the second of four children; Frances Killingsworth Martin (deceased), Jimmy Killingsworth (deceased), and Nancy Killingsworth Martin of Greenwood, SC. Hazel was a graduate of Winthrop College. Following graduation, she taught high school biology in Honea Path, SC. This was soon followed with a position teaching home economics at Erskine College in Due West, SC until her retirement in 1982. She received the most joy teaching advanced clothing design which drew on her passion for drawing and fashion. Later in life she married the late Judge Edwin Manos of Abbeville, SC. They enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, their motorcycle club, and donating their time and resources to charities that were dear to their hearts. Hazel moved to Rock Hill following Ed’s passing and we would like to express extreme gratitude to the people who showed true compassion while helping her through these later stages in life.
